Best Buy Taxonomy Alignment
Best Buy Co., Inc. is an American multinational consumer electronics corporation. Best Buy sells consumer electronics and a variety of related merchandise, including software, video games, music, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, mobile phones, digital cameras, car stereos and video cameras, in addition to home appliances (washing machines, dryers, and refrigerators), in a non-commissioned sales environment. Best Buy Co., Inc. required parameterized and standardized data for their online store in a short period so that the data can be made available to online customers before Christmas. GfK Etilize took the challenge to provide data to Best Buy in that short period.
With hard work, dedication and project management skills successfully delivered this Multi-million dollar project to Best Buy that includes taxonomy alignment and template enhancement of more than 100 categories within a short period of one month, so that products can be available to the customers before Christmas. For successful delivery of this project manage a team of 4 resources, that include task assignment to the resources, follow up on assigned tasks, monitor the quality of the project and to make sure that every part of the project is delivered on time.
Template Simplification
Managed team of 15 members for restructuring 50+ categories for taxonomy and templates, that resulted in a 40% increased production, saving man hours and yielding increased revenue for the company. This includes task assignment to the resources, monitoring the quality of the templates created and to make sure that the project completes before its deadline meeting the expectations of the stakeholders.
Office Equipment & Supplies
The project was for SP Richards (USA) and includes the creation of new domain that consists of devices, equipment and accessories required for daily operation in offices, some of the categories were File Folders & Binders, Dangri, ID Cards, Life Jackets & Vests, Protective Arm Sleeves, etc. With research & analysis of the market and subject matter expertise skill created category structure of Office Equipment & Supplies as per market standards along with standardized and parameterized template for each category. As part of this project also conducted interviews for the hiring of new resources for the extraction on this domain. Create Standards Document to maintain the quality of the extraction and also training documents that help in providing training for the newly hired resources. Adding a new multi-million dollar customer to the company.
Code Plan Alignment
The merger of Etilize Pvt. Ltd. with GfK also required the merger of databases of both Etilize and MDM. This includes template alignment, attribute mapping and data migration from MDM to Etilize Categories. This also required the creation of new templates, training of resources and maintaining the quality of the data sheets produced. Updating and creation of Standard Documents were also part of this project.
Calumet Photographic
This project was to create a new catalog related to Photography, indoor, outdoor and studio. The project required adding new categories as well as creating and importing templates for photography as per the market standards. Also to create standard documents as well as training documents and to provide training to resources, also monitoring the quality of the product data sheets.
NextGen Template Enhancement
As the standards of the market change the enhancement of the template is required on a regular basis. This project requires revision of the existing categories for the template changes as per market requirement. These changes are based on the attributes related to search and One Line Description so that the product can be searched easily on the online shopping websites and results in increased web traffic by 10% to 15%, as well as the with the improved attributes for OLD results in quick and easy buying decision by the online customers. Also resulted in the increase of production and minimizing the error rate during production, hence providing 100% quality to the customers.
